Why January 18th? Because this was the day a three-way agreement between federal authorities and the City of Montréal was published, which stipulated that the World Fair should be held on the Island of Montréal. So at that time, municipal authorities had not yet considered the Islands site.
Why March 15th? To allow for a slim interval of two weeks between an enlightened inspiration in the Mayor's mind and the final decision, an indispensable interval for the most minimum of feasibility studies conducted at top speed. Actually, this study was already prepared and had been somewhere in Mayor Drapeau's office - as we know - since September.
